Dr. Kay Eggleston is Richland College’s Interim President and Superintendent of the Richland Collegiate High School.  She leads the largest DCCCD college, with an enrollment of nearly 20,000 credit students.  Previous to her current appointment, Eggleston served as chief operating officer and vice president for institutional effectiveness at Richland.  Richland is well-known for its performance excellence practices, having been named a 2005 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the first community college in the nation to receive this distinction.  Richland was also named a 2005 recipient of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence, the first accredited higher education institution in Texas to be so honored.  Eggleston is a frequent national speaker on Richland’s Baldrige-based performance excellence practices.   

 

Dr. Eggleston was named the 2007 Carl M. Nelson Administrative Leadership Award recipient by the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC).  This state award recognizes a community college administrator who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities at a Texas community college. Eggleston was also selected as the 2007 Dallas County Community College District Administrator of the Year and the 2007 Richland College Administrator of the Year.  She was recognized as the 2007 Richardson Altrusa International Inc.’s Outstanding Woman of Today, representing the education sector.

 

Dr. Eggleston holds the B.S. in nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato (formerly Mankato State College); the M.S. in nursing from Texas Woman’s University; and the Ph.D. in management and administrative sciences from The University of Texas at Dallas. 

 

Dr. Eggleston is active in numerous professional, community and civic organizations, including having served on the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board, 2005-2007, and Board of Directors, 2008-present.  She previously served a five-year term on the Garland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she chaired the Performance Excellence Council.  She is a graduate of Leadership Richardson, and a member of the Richardson Rotary Club and Altrusa International Inc. of Downtown Dallas.
