The Richardson Telecom Corridor® Legislative Day was held on Feb. 10 & 11, 2009
Representatives from the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and the Public Affairs Committee attended Richardson Telecom Corridor® Legislative Day on Feb. 10 &11, 2009. Legislative Day provided participants the opportunity to visit the state capitol and better understand the legislative process. Delegates also had a chance to network with community leaders, hear from our local representatives and key state officials, attend committee hearings, attend committee meetings and visit various legislators. This year an added bonus included sitting in on a joint House, Senate and Judical hearing.
The Public Affairs committee sent the Chamber's proposed Legislative Agenda to the Board of Directors for approval, after months of careful consideration and input from the membership. Those items were presented to each of our state representatives to let them know concerns of the Richardson business and residential communities. There were also several interesting speakers such as Bill Hammond, President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business, the Director of the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee and the Director from the Local Government and Economic Development for the Comptroller's Office.

The Public Affairs Committee of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce consists of members of the Chamber interested in public affairs, governmental relations, state and local issues and advocacy.
