Standard amenities include free Wi-Fi and voicemail access, a fully functional business center, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, full health & fitness center and sauna facilities.

Health and Wellness: Spinal Degeneration - Silently Killing Your Dreams

Posted by: Neil Gardner, D.C., Gardner Chiropractic on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 12:00:00 am Comments (0)

When a vertebra gets out of alignment, it puts pressure on the surrounding bones as they move. Think of what happens if you use a hammer to hit a door hinge slightly out of alignment. Initially you may not notice much, but over time the door will begin to squeak, it will become unstable, the good hinge will also go bad and your door will no longer work. This is what happens in your spine; if a misalignment is not corrected, degeneration will later develop. The amount of degeneration depends on the degree of misalignment and how long it has been there uncorrected.

According to an article by John R. Hesselink, MD, FACR, "Degenerative spine disease is a major cause of chronic disability in the adult working population." In my chiropractic practice, I have found this to be true. I see far too many persons in their twenties and thirties with signs of early to moderate spinal degeneration.

Changes in posture, decreased ranges of motion and chronic neck or back pain, are all suggestive of early spinal degeneration. Later signs of spinal degeneration include arthritis of the spine, disc herniations, sciatica, incontinence of bowel and bladder, impotence and sexual dysfunction. Many of these changes are irreversible and usually require surgical management.

The key to effective treatment is early detection and the only health provider that routinely checks for this disease is your chiropractor. If you think that you may be having signs of spinal degeneration, do not delay. Call your chiropractor today.

Everyone is looking to save a dollar here and a dollar there. That that search for a few extra dollars led long time Richardson resident Greg Broom to start REACHbarrier in 2009.  Greg was looking to save money on his electricity bill and discovered the drastic role radiant barriers have in lowering that bill.  Through a process of trial and error, Greg learned what steps and processes where necessary to maximize the efforts of the barrier in heating and cooling to save homeowners the most amount money.  Reach Barrier’s goal is to save homeowners the most amount of money and to provide long term energy saving solution instead of a quick fix.
