Advocacy
There is power in numbers, and the Richardson Chamber of Commerce is 900 member companies strong. As one of the largest chambers of commerce in North Texas, we have the power to affect change both in the legislature and in our community.
The Richardson Chamber is the voice of the local business community. Our advocacy efforts focus on those things that enhance the business environment in our community and those things that make Richardson a great place to live, work, worship and play.
Advocacy in Action
The Richardson Chamber of Commerce:
- Led efforts to establish the Texas Emerging Technology Fund
- Organizes a "Legislative Day" in Austin during the legislative session
- Produces an annual New Teachers Luncheon for the Richardson Independent School District
- Keeps Richardson a pro-business community
- Instituted an annual RISD Career Summit to educate students about what careers in specific industries/fields are available after high school and/or college
